Obituary

William Settle was born on February 16, 1958, in Gary, West Virginia, to James and Lillis Settle. He attended San Fernando High School, where he excelled as a running back on the football team and also distinguished himself in track and field. Following graduation, his athletic talent earned him a scholarship to Linfield University in Oregon, where he continued competing in both football and track. He graduated from Linfield in 1980 with a degree in Communications.

With his passion and leadership, he built a long and successful career as a District Sales Manager with Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was a dedicated and hardworking professional whose brand loyalty ensured we had Coca-Cola products around Granny’s house and at every family get-together. Following his retirement in 2021, he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, where he enjoyed a well-earned period of relaxation and time with loved ones.

William had a deep love for life and for those around him. He was a devoted father, brother, and uncle who cherished time with his family and friends. He found great joy in live music, traveling, and sports, especially USC football.

William was preceded in death by his parents and his son William Clay Settle. He is survived by his children, Jason Settle, Arleen Settle, and Chrisandra Rouse, as well as his beloved grandchildren, J’Naya, Jaden, and Londyn. He is survived by six siblings: James (Paula) Settle, Kenneth Settle, Rita Linton, Frank Settle, Jon Settle, and Andrew Settle, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Known for his warmth, humor, and strong presence, William will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, love for family, and joyful spirit will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.
