A Blessed Life Remembered

SHARON DENEEN RANNELS was born on August 14th, 1964 which was her grandmother’s birthday (Henrietta Ollison) to Cheryl D. Rannels and Daniel W. Rannels in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the first sibling of five from that union. Sharon’s brothers and sisters: Danail W. Rannels, Dana N. Rannels, Daniel Bates and Kim R. Bates.

The family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1976 where Sharon attended Audubon Middle School and went to Dorsey High School, where she graduated in 1982. She went to TradeTech College to get her Nursing License. After TradeTech, Sharon got a Nursing License from the American Red Cross. Upon moving to LA (The Jungles), Sharon found her hood family from BPS where she found love with Benny Ross Harris which produced their first love, her very first heartbeat Denisha S. Harris. After several years, Sharon was blessed to find her husband and father of her children, Booker T. Simmons. From that union the pair produced her next four loving blessings and heartbeats Kiausha, Brittian, Brandon & Deu’janara Simmons.

As Sharon cruised through many passions and interests, her motorcycle family was a pure joy to her; yet she also navigated through obstacles and triumphs in life powerfully. She became a career student attending several different colleges pursuing the fields of Business, Real Estate, Interior & Fashion Design. Sharon blissfully found love and marriage once again with Anita L. Hayes. A soldier through and through, a fighter and a warrior, Sharon lived authentically, independently and confidently as a fierce phenomenal woman. Being the free spirit, God fearing woman she wanted to be.

Sharon devoted her life to Christ and was baptized at Bethany Baptist Church in 1979. She joined Paradise Church of God in Christ in 1992 with her mother, Cheryl Rannels. Faithfully, Sharon lived her life as a strong advocate of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; a devoted believer and prayer warrior that could be caught on the prayer line at 5AM on any given day.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cheryl and Danny W. Rannels, sister Kimberly R. Bates, brother Kibra Morman, other mother Doris Morman, uncle Cedric D. Ollison, aunt Freda Ollison, and aunt Ella Pearl Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved heartbeats, her children Denisha S. Harris, Kiausha R. Simmons, Brittian T. Simmons, Brandon T. Simmons and De’ujunara B. Simmons; including grandchildren Brazil Simmons, Israel Simmons, and Bentley Simmons, her brother Danail W. Rannels, Sr. sister Dana Rannels-Winn (and husband Robert Winn II), brother Daniel Bates along with her aunts, Phyllis Parker, Westlynn Davis (and husband Ricco Davis),. She also leaves nieces Naiya D. Winn, Tyshane Rannels, Amila Williams, Dimitria, Jearema, Shardea Wallen and Charlea Green, nephews Robert Winn III, Ahadi Rannels, Amir Rannels, Ali Rannels, and Danail W.Rannels Jr.. She additionally leaves ‘bonus’ siblings Springlyn Smith (and children), Keich Morman (and children), Frederick Morman (and daughter), and Frantz Morman III (and children). Bonus Dad Frantz Morman II, plus a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, bonus children, godchildren, and family.
