Life Reflection

Patricia Lorraine Johnson, age 65, peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and unwavering love. She was born on July 23, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, to her devoted parents, David and Mildred Johnson.

Patricia was raised and educated in the San Fernando Valley, where she graduated from Polytechnic High School. She later pursued higher education at Valley College, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Child Development. Her nurturing spirit and love for people were evident in both her professional life and her ministry.

A faithful and lifelong member of Lake View Terrace Baptist Church since the 1970s, Patricia grew deeply in her walk with Christ. She was actively involved in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, the youth and young adult ministries, and the choir. She poured into the lives of young people with wisdom, patience, and love. Patricia also served as a Spiritual Advisor to the Shekinah Youth Dance Ministry. She found great fulfillment in sharing God’s Word with others.

Patricia had a deep and abiding love for Gospel music. She not only sang but also shared songs with the music ministry that uplifted and encouraged the entire church. Her joy for music was matched by her passion for Scripture.

After the passing of her father, Deacon David C. Johnson, Patricia transformed her grief into ministry. She created a grief support outreach, sending scriptures and Christian music to comfort those experiencing loss. Her kindness extended in a simple but meaningful ways, including her signature gesture of giving coin purses and prayer cards to those she encountered along her journey.

One of the most remarkable expressions of Patricia’s love was her decision to donate stem cells to her brother David during his battle with leukemia. Without hesitation, she stepped forward in faith. The transplant was successful, and her brother remains cancer-free—a living testimony to her courage and selflessness.

Patricia worked faithfully for the United States Post Office, often during night shifts, yet she remained deeply connected to her church family.

She is survived by her mother, Mildred Johnson; her siblings Sandra, David, Virgil, and Kimberley; her nieces Cherrelle, Domonique, and Taylor Rae; her nephew Virgil; her great-nieces and nephews Tre’Shaun, Za’Miya, and Quintavious; and her beloved goddaughter, Tyler Whitley along with a host of family, extended family and friends.

Patricia loved the color purple—symbolizing royalty, wisdom, and spirituality—and she truly lived as a daughter of the King. Her life was a beautiful reflection of faith in action, and her legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.
