Michael Jay Elridge was born on April 1, 1965, to Bernesteen Robinson and Coleman Elridge. He graduated from Birmingham High School in 1983 and went on to dedicate more than 30 years of his life to serving others as a compassionate care provider throughout the greater Los Angeles area. His work spanned hospitals, nursing care facilities, and private homes, where he touched countless lives with his patience, skill, and unwavering kindness.
Michael was a man of many talents. He was an actor, extra, and entertainer, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. He loved to cook, watch movies, travel, and explore his creative side through music. One of his cherished memories was writing and performing a song for his grandmother, Reola Fisher, while playing his guitar at Aunt Irene’s home during a family gathering.
Above all, Michael was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved all the children in his life deeply and unconditionally. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, driving fast cars, and spending time with his brothers Cary and Mitchell, as well as with his close friends. He shared seven loving years with Margaret Beatrice Wright, who remained by his side until he peacefully passed away in her arms.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Bernesteen Robinson and Coleman Elridge, and his son, Michael Elridge Jr.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory:
Brothers: Cary G. Harris and Mitchell D. Harris (Tracy)
Children: Sherell Elridge and Nieko Elridge
Grandchildren: Kaelani Elridge and Da’Mari Jones
Great-Grandchildren: Dayorie Jones and Da’Miri Jones
A host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Michael’s life was full of love, laughter, and service. His will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, carried forward through the stories he shared, the people he cared for, and the joy he brought.
