Remembering Our Beloved
Doris Arlean Osman, age 72, of Los Angeles, California, peacefully departed this life surrounded by the love of family and cherished memories. She was born December 5, 1953 to the late Isom W. Buard and Ella D. Buard, who instilled in her strong values of faith, family, and kindness.
In 1973, Doris married Edmund Arnold Jr, and from this union they welcomed one beloved daughter, Alima Arnold, who was the pride and joy of her life.
In 2010, Doris met Richard Morton Jr, who would become the love of her life and her soulmate. Their bond was filled with deep love and companionship. The couple became engaged on December 4, 2022 and looked forward to a future together, though she was not able to see their wedding day.
Doris was a woman who found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved going to church, watching movies, and most of all spending time with her family. Her warmth, strength, and loving spirit will always be remembered by those who knew her. Above all, Doris was a devoted fiancé, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family deeply and was always there with encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love. She created a home filled with laughter, comfort, and cherished memories that will live on forever.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her only daughter, Alima Arnold; her sister, Farieda Bey; her grandsons, Khayree Sanders (Lindsey Sanders), Khalil Sanders, and Kasai Childress; and her great-granddaughter, Rhea Sanders.
She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Salma Bey, Hamidah Bey, Aisha Stephens, and Jamillah Majied Jenkins (Andre Jenkins), and nephews, Khalif Majied-Muhammad (Bridgette Majied-Muhammad), Sayyid Majied-Muhammad (Ihsan Majied-Muhammad), and Amir Majied-Muhammad (Cheryl Felix), along with a host of great nieces and nephews as well as extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her. Doris was preceded in death by her brother Abdul Majied-Muhammad, who passed away on February 11, 2026.
